Members of this community gladly attend Health Fairs. They
are typically able to care for themselves in most ways. Ages
are typically 65+ for this group. Health Fairs are enjoyable
for this group because of the helpful knowledge they will
gain.
Assisted Living Retirement Communities
Members of this community are not able to care for
themselves in the same way as the Independent Living
Community. This group will attend Fairs in smaller numbers
due to their decreased mobility and commonly decreased
hearing. They will be accompanied by family members or
caregivers at these Fairs, and attendance is usually considered
an “outing”.
Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC)
This community provides care for people who may enter as
independent, and may later move to the assisted living stage,
and move later into a long-term care category. Fair attendees
will be the independent and assisted living residents, as
outlined earlier.
Senior Citizen organizations
Senior Citizen organizations cater to local seniors and provide a wide
variety of activities and services, including Adult Day Care Center options.
These locations draw seniors who use the Senior Citizen facility daily:
family members of seniors, caregivers, and the general public.
Churches
These are targeted via a particular church, aimed at providing
much-needed information to church members as well as the general public.
This is sometimes viewed as a “witness” opportunity by the church to show
interest in the good of the local community.
Other Venues
Other venues are certainly possible. Please see “Book Your Fair” for details
on setting up your Health and Wellness Fair.
